Paint and Decals

The model has a really easy paint scheme of Panzer grey. For my Panzer Grey I mix model Master white and black to make the grey shade. I start by mixing a dark color then add more white to it and paint the highlights which are the panels, doors and raised surfaces as this replaces the dry-brushing step for me.

It my opinion is that some armor modelers try to do some much weathering to achieve a realistic look that they get caught overdoing it resulting in a unrealistic look. I finish for the camera and not the naked eye so I may finish differently than others. I then mix Model Masters burnt umber with thinner and applied to the lower surface on the tracks, wheels, and underbelly. The paint is very thinned down and can be applied in layers so it can be built ups as much as you prefer.

The model is next gloss coated so the decals can be applied and once they set I flat coat it before adding the final weathering which will be next... washes.
