I still have mine sitting on the shelf waiting for the same correction, as well as rebuilding the two 45mm turrets that I put the tops on backwards. I just don't have the time to fix 'finished' kits lately. Just make sure on this spot to dig up some pictures of the turret, as it has an inverted T-shaped plate that fits there, in the area that the MG port was.

This link here shows the backside of the turret. And no worries about the support rods, it looks like you've got the right number on it there.

This is defintely the early style turret, the slope sided version was VERY different. A good example of the difference would be looking at the BT-7 Early and Late. The turrets on that tank were similar to those used for the 45mm guns on the T-35, and the late ones had the sloped turrets. The taper is very obvious when you compare the two, probably about 15-20 degrees.
