Overview of the References
Here's an overall view of the references I will use. I think it's fairly self explanatory, but a few comments (counterclockwise from bottom right):
1) Military Modelling article: article by Cookie Sewell, useful for some 1:1 photos. Not necessary, as it correct the Tamiya kit.
2) Concord US Light Tanks: useful. Contains in action photos of M5A1 plus color plate
3) Concord US Tank Battles in France. useful. Again, photos of M5A1 in action plus color plate (same as above though).
4) Osprey NV M3 & M5 light tank: useful. Photographic content more or less the same as the two above. Has different color plate, and more technical information
5) Osprey Modelling Stuart: useful. Chapter on correcting Tamiya kit. Useful tips on ground work, plus a scale plan of M5A1 hull.
6) AFVisual Stuart series: useful, with some good photos. Too bad though it's a smaller A5 size, where previous issues have been landscape format.
Should you want to make this kit as well, I'd recommend the Osprey Modelling book, the Tank Battles in France book and the AFVisual book. |
