Brass Fenders

Well after a forced break in building this model I'm pleased to say I'm back and ready to resume building again. This Chapter will deal with installing brass fenders by Voyager models. The fenders are nice and really don't need much work to get them ready. The first thing that needs to be done is to press into the recessed lines under the fenders. This will give a raised rib on top of the fender and the impressed look under the fender. This is missing on the kit. The only area that needs to be soldered is the front curved section. The photos show how to do that. Coat the area to be joined with Flux and use a soldering iron to join the solder to the brass part. Radio Shack offers some really fine Solder, .022 diameter. Stock number is 64-013E. After the join in completed I sanded the edge. The fenders are now ready to install. I installed the fenders to the hull with gap filling super glue. Next the support brackets were added.
