The Gun

The gun was assembled at this time also, but not attached to the upper hull yet. That's going to come much later, because now I have to start seriously thinking about how I'm going to be painting this. My plan to "paint nothing until all assembly is completed" just doesn't look like a viable option any more. First I primed and painted the interior of the upper hull. The gun will have to be left off the hull until last (along with the remaining upper hull details), or masking the open portion of the hull will be almost impossible. I know it will need to be masked because of course I will be spraying primer over the exterior at some point in the near future. (I don't paint nothin' without priming it first.) So the gun (and its shields) will also need to be primed and painted separately. Oh well.
