First all, we must apologice for our delay giving the prices in Theme contest, but because a trip and other internal matters was impossible make it public before.
Excuse us , please.
Well, we are very glad for anounce the winer together with a small explanation about it. Anyway, if you have any coment about it or your own opinion, you can discurss here for make it more interactive. Each model entried in the contest have his specail good things, but we have valorated the more interesting or with a better final look.
1st Prize: SdKfz 11 by Ruben Gonzalez
- In general, this model show a excellent weathering and fading look, very soft, but also very realistic. It is a good example of a well balanced paint work. To work with a uniform base color is very complex. Many people make the base color without different shades and it is boring. But also a excessive fading is negative sometimes. But not in this case! Also, in this model the chips, rust and dust is well painted.
2nd Prize: Stug III by Alberto Elizondo
-we were surprised with the nice winter look in this model. Even if there are more winter models at contest, this example is one of the best. The final look is very realistic, and the method is also original. maybe we miss a little of weathering effects more, as mud or dirt, but the chips and damage in a white camuflage is also a fruit of the weathering conditions and use of crew.
Third Prize: D7 Caterpillar Dozer by Michael Bedard
If any of you never has build a bulldocer, I must explain that it is a very complex project, specially for paint work. Is not as easier as to paint a tank, because the caterpillar have complex shapes and volumes difficult top interpret. In general this work is very nice, but...we were focused in the amazing mud work. If you see with attention the side pictures, you can enjoy the very nice work of different grades of dry mud and wet mud. Specially near the wheels and boggie.
Highly Commended: Tiger I 1:72 by Murat Ozgul
We wanted to give even a price to each model in the conctest for try to price the effort of each of you, but of course it is impossible because it is a contest where we must select to 3 winers. But, we wanted to remark the nice work on this small tiger I. As the small scale modeller know, the difficulty level in small scales is higher than in 1/35. This is why we think that this Tiger show interesting points in weathering and paint effects. The dust, mud, chips and winter camo is well balanced, but...of course is a bit less efective than in the other 3 winers. We want to use this example for push to small scale modellers to improve the weathering paint works.
To all of you, many, many thanks and again....still working in a D-Day subject without forget to apply a nice weathering in your model.
Thanks from Track link and Mig Productions.
PS: The winer must send their POST ADRESS and full info to:
info@migproductions.com
Don't forget to add the place of your price. We will send you your price as soon as possible to your home.
Miguel decided to include the last one due to the fine and complicated paint job in small scale. |
