Kawika & Martin,
we are on the same wavelength. It would require some converting or scratchbuilding, but how involved you wanted to get would be up to you.
I would like to keep this really open as far as what base vehicle could be used, so for the sake of the contest any nationality could produce a prototype. We could have prototypes based on T-72, Challenger, LAV, Humvee, VAB, BTR, Stryker etc. (Anything goes). As this would be a fictional vehicle you could easily use an older, inexpensive kit.
Any ideas as to the design criteria? Radar vehicle, mine layer, mine clearer, bridgelayer???
I think that seeing the different ways people approach the project is going to be the interesting part of this.
