Oh that one,... I use the foil copy technique.
Take a sheet of thick aluminum foil trim to the height of a plastic oil drum then tightly wrap around it and burnish out the details like the rims and the central cap. Gently unwrap and glue together at the spine to make a nice aluminium barrel without the top or bottom. Then I either add the top cover or just squash it and create bullet holes with a pin.
