Thanks for the info James,
I used a scalpel and it still left a dimple. Fortunately, the cement repaired the tears but I think it is a good idea to warn those that may panic if the track comes apart that is still can be fixed.
On my kit, I need different tracks anyway so I will use Panda Plastics (ex-RHPS) tracks.
