German Snipers

This pair of snipers comprises half of the DML German Snipers kit. The figures are very well molded, and quick to assemble. The figures are OOTB except for the head on the kneeling guy. It is a Verlinden replacement, because I thought the facial details on the kit head were weak. Of course you can't see much of his face with the binoculars...

These mark my first attempts at white and snow using H&A slush. The figures were painted with oils, enamels and acrylics. I painted the gun stocks by base coating in white and then wiping some brown paint along the wood in one direction. It gave the standing guy's gun a nice light wood grain look.

The muddy footprints are raw umber oil. The wall section comes from a Warriors kit. The vegetation is from the yard. I enclosed the full photo just to show the whole base...

The extreme closeups reveal that I really loaded on the paint in places!!
