Ostfront Destruction

The title of this diorama is called Ostfront Destruction. I have read somewhere that almost 50% of the casualties on the Eastern Front was due to artillery gun fire, so the title seemed appropriate for this scene somewhere in Russia. The vocal point is the German 15 cm Schwere Feldhaubitze 18 (from Precision Models). Three SS Grenadiers, more dead than alive, are walking back from the front line to their own. Did they engage a stronger enemy or was it friendly gun fire? In contrast, the gun crew is relaxing; someone is even taking a bath!

I enjoyed making this diorama, even the gun (there was resin all over my place!).
