This is Crie.El's fairly new model of the Italian AB 41. It is not the first model of this vehicle to hit the market, but it is the best so far since it is the first to get most of the angles about right. The kit comes with a fair amount of interior detail but we still found enough to add. We could have done much more but it isn't that visible when the model is finished. One exception is formed by the hinges and opening mechanisms of the armoured visor flaps that are totally absent from the kit and proved very difficult to make. The exterior has also received lots of extra small details such as door locks, width indicators, new tool clamps, a new pickaxe, a new exhaust bracket and more small additions. The License plates were drawn in photoshop and printed on high resolution paper, then glued in place. Unfortunately the colours have started to bleed since the model's completion. MV lenses were added to the rear lights and a tron lens was added to the light on the license plate.
The model was finished in humbrol enamels, with small chips and dark spots added, after which the model was given two oil washes and dusted with pastel chalk. The base is porion DIY filler with cat litter sprinkled onto it when dry.
The figures are from Model Victoria and are simply gorgeous. Their tank uniforms are, strictly speaking, not correct for armoured car crews, but they looked too good not to buy them!
