This is the Emhar kit with an Airwaves photo-etched detail set and Model Cellar tracks. The tracks were all thinned down along the edges to give a more scale appearence. Exhaust was scratchbuilt using styrene, photo-etched sprue and model ship rope - the kit part was a guide. The 'spuds' or grousers were first made out of styrene the copies cast. I didn't have enough Airwaves photoetched pieces for all the spuds so some have styrene to detail them. Handles were replaced with brass wire. I didn't use kit decals for the red and white markings but painted those on. All other markings are from the kit. The model was finished with Tamiya paints. Washes, spills and rust streaks were painted using Windsor/Newton watercolors. Mud and dirt was accomplished using Hudson & Allen mud mixed with Tamiya earth with the addition of pastel dust. Rust on the tracks was accomplished using Windsor/Newton watercolors and 'RustAll' rust. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
