A Moment

This is the Warriors 120mm figure. The sunflowers are home made, using dried flowers and metal rods along with plastic leaves from the fish section of a aquarium shop. I built the figure about 8 years ago, it was done with Acryl and Oils. The funny thing about this little gem, for the longest time I couldn't think of a scene or a title. My wife in her infinite wisdom came up with the scene and the title, ' A Moment', the story was completed. It was her idea to have him walk through a field of sunflowers and hold one in his hand. She wanted to emphasize on his weary and thoughtful face, and show that there is a moment, even in combat, to enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature. I guess after being married to me and the military for a entire career, with as many deployments as we spend apart, it was a fitting scene and title. In the eyes of a woman.
