Ferdinand

This is the Italeri Elephant kit with the Accurate Armour Ferdinand conversion. The only thing left from the Italeri kit is the lower hull and wheels. The rest, including tools and tracks, are part of the conversion. The barrel is from Jodi Rubio as the resin barrel that came with the conversion was warped. Other than the barrel though, the rest of the conversion parts were good. A few of the very small pieces had flash, but that was easy to clean up. Air brushed with Tamiya acrylics, and the markings are from Archer Fine Transfers. I applied an oil wash and dry brushed highlights, and weathered with pastel chalks. The tow cables are made from string (the ends came with the kit). Modeled to represent a vehicle of sPzJgAbt. 654, Kursk, Russia in July 1943.
