Model by Mark Lee

This is a nice little model by Ironside, it came with resin gear box and a small pe set, all I added was a set of Friulmodel tracks.

I followed the "proper" modelling procedures:

1) WASHING AND CLEANING:

a) Injection parts were washed with soap in warm water @ 35 to 40 deg C to remove all the "stress" in the plastic, fully raised and dried with clean white cloth;

b) Resin gear box was washed with liquid detergent (oil stain) in warm water @ 40 deg C, fully raised and dried with clean white cloth;

c) PE set was water sanded with "1000" and "1200" water sand papers.

d) Gear box mold lines were removed with a crafting knife and water sanded with "400" and "800" water sand paper; P-Cut was used to recreate details when necessary;

e) Molded lines were removed by a crafting knife.

2) INTERIOR:

a) All the interior pieces were constructed;

b) Game Workshop white primer was then applied; (Game Workshop primer is a very thin metal primer, works on plastic as well)

c) Thin coats of Tamiya paint were applied 3 times on the gear box, and 5 times on the rest of the parts by a Gunze Sangyo double action airbrush, when primer was completely dried;

20 drops of Pure Dark yellow was used for the first coat, 5 drop of flat white was added between coats, paint was internal mixed. Spray area was decreased after each coat.

Airbrush was not clean to simulate shading and layer effect!

d) Combination of Winton oil color was used to on interiors to simulate age, when Tamiya paint was completely dried;

Winton Color used: Soft mixing white, Ivory Black, Raw Sienna burnt Sienna, and lot of solvent

Little Ticks on oil wash...

I) Save your left-over oil color for later!!!

II) Apply oil paint Solvent on the entire surface before adding thinned oil color for maximum control. one little drawback is that the oil color will take longer to dry!

3) EXTERIOR:

a) The rest of the model were put together without wheels and tracks; (make sure the masking on the interior can be removed)

b) Game Workshop white primer was then applied;

c) Thin coats of Tamiya paint were applied 5 times on the body and wheels

90% Dark Yellow, 5% Flat white, and 5% Flat Earth were mixed as the base color ( I added 4cc to the airbrush ) for the first coat on the entire surface, 8 drop of flat white was added between coats, paint was internal mixed. Spray area was decreased after each coat.

d) Como color was applied. (a bottle of Olive Green, 10 drops Flat White and a drop of clean green)

e) Flat Black was applied to the wheels by hand brush;

f) Metal tracks were constucted, and oil washed with Ivoy Black followed by Burnt Sienna; ( no solvent was added)

g) Brown, Black, Earth, and white mixed Pastel powder was applied onto the metal tracks where the oil color was still wet.

h) Metal tracks were light sanded and were then inserted on the body;

f) Oil wash was applied on the entire model with the left-over oil color with my little trick;

g) Pastel powder was dry brushed onto the the body to simulate dirt and dust;

h) Silver and lead (B) pencils were used for high and low lighting effect; (lots of the tracks)

i) Tester's Dute Coat was applied to complete the model.

That's it, sample, Right?

Thanks for looking and reading all the junk I spent hours on.....

Feel free to email me for any questions you may have.
