M2A4 USMC on Guadalcanal, 1942

This M2A4 on Guadalcanal depicts the end result of the night attack by the Ichiki Detachment on Marine positions in what became known as the Battle of the Tenaru, 20-21 August, 1942. The entire Ichiki Detachment was destroyed while the Marines suffered only light losses.

The model is a converted M3 Stuart with a modified Verlinden Honey turret. The figures are a combination of DML and Tamiya with Hornet heads. All have been resculpted. The tank crew is the converted Jaguar german "Crew Bailout".
