Good Find ! Tiger I in Russia

Diorama by Aaron Boos

This is an older Tamiya Tiger I, a Russian jeep and some Verlinden figures.
The older Tamiya Tiger kits didn’t come with all the bells and whistles the newer ones come with so a few modifications were in order. Most of the updates were made using various shapes and sizes of polystyrene strips and sheets. Fender bolts, rear turret hatch latches, cable tow holders on the left side of the tank were also scratch built. I used a bit of tissue for a small tarp on the top of the turret.
The Verlinden figure originally was holding a French helmet. I revamped the entire hand holding a Tamiya Russian helmet and used a head from Hornet that had a peculiar smirk on his face like "Look what I found!" To add to the authenticity, I also used a Hornet German helmet that included a helmet liner sitting on the ground next to him as if he had tried the Russian helmet on for size.
On the ground next to the Russian jeep lies the gas can with two german potatoe mashers bound to it for the demolition of the jeep after they pillage it for souvenirs and anything that may be useful. I wanted this diorama to tell a small story about the mid war years in Russia.
