Tiger I Ausf E in the Defense of Douvres, France

Here is a brief summary of my Diorama.

"Defense of Drouves, France - 1944"

Douvres was an important place because Germans installed a Tower and a Communications Center (which still remains at that place). For this reazon some Tigers of the Panzer Abt. 503 gave support to the 21th Panzer Division of General Feuchtinger by taking care of this place. Finally the 3rd. Division of the Canadian Infantry, the 8th and 9th Armor Canadian Brigade took the place by arriving through the Bernieres-Sur-Mer Coast located at the Sword Sector. - * Bibliography: "Invasion-they're coming!" by Paul Carell (George Harrap & Co. Ltd).

The tank is from Tamiya - I used Tamiya acrylic paints, then I applied oil wash and pastels finishing details with dry brush. I applied a wash with Humbrol paints on the tracks and used a dry brush in the end. I also used a grafite pencil No.2 to detail the gun barrel, machine gun and tools. The grids are from Greif and I made the tool box (on the back of the tank) from "scratch" using plasticard.

Machine gun team is also from Tamiya - For the figures I used Rodin acrylics paintings, oil wash and finished with pastels. The 1st. Officer has Aber photoetched buckle, can, belt of the machine gun and binoculars. The rest fo the team has photoetched ammo belts for their machine guns. The dead soldier is Verlinden.

Scenery: The pavement and railings are from Remi and the rest was made from scratch; the stairs and banisters are plastic, the wall is made of wood covered with Polyester and "Model Filler" of Humbrol and in the end, just before the "Model F." dried, I marked the bricks lines with a pencil. The street signal is from Verlinden, the light-post Italeri and the clamps were made with a steel plate from Greif.
