Pz. II Ausf. F, Afrika Korps

This is Tamiya's kit. I switched the tracks with those from their Wespe kit, which also meant I had to use the Wespe sprockets as the PzII's teeth don't align with the more detailed tracks from the Wespe. I added headlight lenses from small clear domes and a few minor details around the hull which mostly aren't too noticeable. I used dark grey aerosol primer for the panzer gray base and Ceramcoat acrylics for the sand camouflage. I used a liquid mask to indicate paint chips and scrubbed it off with a stiff paint brush and running water. The markings are a combination of kit decals for some of the palm insignias and handpainting for the numbers and crosses. I don't really find the time or patience for more involved projects and this old kit was very satisfying to build and paint. [Discuss my model]
