This is a combination of Fine Molds' Chi-Nu kit and Tamiya's Chi-Ha Shinhoto.
I started the conversion prior to the introduction of Fine Molds Chi-He kit. I would suggest just buying the Fine Molds Chi-He because it's easier and an extremely accurate kit.
Modifications to the Fine Molds hull consisted of making a new turret ring to adapt the smaller turret, weld bead made of A+B putty on front glacious plate side, vision silts on front hull and removal of some tow hook details on the front.
I added the Fine Molds photo-etched set for the Chi-He to the kit. MV lenses were used for the headlights and taillight. Modifications to the Tamiya turret included weld beads, brass handles to replace plastic ones and applique armor with rivets added to the turret front.
Non-workable ModelKasten tracks were added. I would recommend not aquiring these due to cost and soft detail. Get the workable kind they are much better. The model was finished using Tamiya acrylic painits, Rustall, PollyScale arcylic paints and Windsor-Newton oil paints.
When I updated this model I included a comparison shot of the Type 1 Chi-He and Type 97 Chi-Ha Shinhoto. Some mistaken the two vehicles. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
