Panzer 1a from Tristar

Model by James Tainton

This is a plastic injection moulding with a fret of PE by the new company from the East called "Tristar". I started this kit months ago when it first came out. I was scratch building an interior for it and during this process Tristar announced their own interior in resin with engine. So I basically lost interest and shelved the unit. This last month however I managed to find the inspiration and time to complete this kit, all buttoned up however. I have an interior set on the way for a second Panzer 1 and that kit will have all the doors open!

This kit is lovely to build. The plastic is soft, so you do have to be careful when sanding and trimming parts but clean up was minimal anyhow. The ModelKasten tracks gave me the most trouble. They are very delicate and for some reason there are few if any extras, so mistakes are costly. The next set I will do better on I hope. The detail is great and the parts fit together like a dream. I made mine to represent an early incarnation of the vehicle as part of the Nazi's invasion force into Poland.
