Panzer 1a in Nationalist service (Spanish Civil War)

Model by Warrink Brothers

This is Tristar's little gem of a kit, with some detailing of our own. We added some bolts to the hull and suspension, wired up the lights, repaced the ribbed pipe at the right side of the hull, and added some smaller details such as tool brackets and clamps, and hubs for the return rollers. The horn is a Tamiya item, the lamps are Tron lenses. The Panzers in Spain did not have the front mudguards, so it was necessary to thin down the front ends of the fenders (which are almost two inches thick in scale!).

The model was airbrushed with Humbrol enamels, the markings were masked off and airbrushed with acrylics. The numbers on the front and rear were hand-painted, the only kit decal we used is the Nationalist crossed-weapons emblem on the front hull. The vehicle was dusted and weathered with enamels and washed with oils.
