The Tadpole was an upgrade of the Mark IV Male tank as it was in use in France and Belgium during the last two years of the war. The main changes were the longer tracks, extended at the rear of the tank, to make it possible to cross the wider trenches of the Germans. The upgrade could be fitted to existing tanks and upgrade programs were already running when the war ended. The Tadpole was never deployed operationally.
I built this Emhar kit some time ago and it was interresting to do. The mouldings were a bit crude and I had to apply a lot of filler especially around the side extentions. I only used pastels to weather this model and it turned out surpprisingly well. Hopefully some more WWI models will be available in the near future because it's an interssting subject that deserves more attention. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
