Magach 7C

This IDF Magach 7C was constructed using the Italeri IDF M60 Magach 6 kit. The base model was converted with the Legend Magach 7C set which proved to be a nice conversion. Additionaly the Legend M60 engine with engine bay, a set of Fruilmodellismo Merkava 1/2 tracks and some bits of my own were added to the model. The original Italeri wheels are of the wrong type so I replaced those with resin M48 wheels. De drive sprockets came from a old Tamiya Merkava 1.

The model was finished using Tamiya acrylics. Drybrushing, washes and filters were applied with oil paints. The dusted look was achieved by adding pastels to the model. Just for the fun of it I added the Israeli flag made from lead foil and I spray painted it using Stencel-It stencils.

This model won a silver medal at a Twenot (Dutch armor modelling soc.) meeting and a second place at the Panzer-Modell.de modern armor competition. This turned out to be a difficult but in the end also a great project to do.
