Sturmmann, Ardennes 1944

Number 1604, Sturmmann (Ardennes), is one of the many 1/16th scale figures Dragon has available. I built this one circa. four years ago. It was my first introduction to the cammoflage the Waffen S.S. used in W.W.II. I really did not know about their having cammo uniforms before that. The pattern we see this soldier wearing is one called Oak leaf (Type A) Summer. This pattern, which was designed by artists, came into use in 1943 and was in production until the end of the war. I painted mine using a combination of Humbrol enamel and Gunze acrylics. It's a great little kit with great details and if I were to do it again there could be many opportunities to enhance and tweak this guy.I have added a strap and strap connecting point to the MG 42 but straps could be added to everything else too. I would have to sand off the provided ones first. This was one of those learning curve efforts.
