Sherman Vc Firefly DML 6031

Model by James Tainton

I built this kit three years or so ago just to try to get a balance in my tank building as I am firmly ensconced in the Axis side of things and I thought a change would be good. I'm not as well acquainted with the Sherman tank as I am with Panzer IV's and Panthers, so the accuracy problems that may exist with this particular kit did not phase me. Maybe some of the Shermanholics out there can point the areas that may need some work... I'd like to know for the future. The kit went together really easy and I built it pretty much out of the box. The tracks where the most fidely bit but by using a jig to put them together it was not too bad. I have finished my tank with the Olive drab coat of the Allies with markings from the kit that portrays an AFV from the 27st Canadian Armoured Regiment, 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade, Buron, France 1944. I think this tank may have been involved with the elimination of Michael Wittman.
