Sd.Kfz. 251/22

This is Hasegawa's 1-72nd scale kit. The tracks were taken from the Italeri kit. The front fenders were made from plastic sheet. A few interior details like the rifle holders and 75mm ammo boxes were added inside. There isn't too much room inside so it was rather hard to find space for additional stowage.

The model was meant to represent a Western Front vehicle but due to a failed paint job I had to whitewash it and transfer it to the Eastern Front. Weathering the lower part was made with extensive use of pastels on the dry matte paint.

This model turned out to be a nice little addition to my collection considering the fact that it was heading straight to the bin. My only reservation is that the markings might never correspond to an actual vehicle of that time as I had to leave the ones from the first paint job on (a little bit lazy there).
