Challenger 2 - Op Telic

Model by Leo Lee

This is the Trumpeter Challenger 2, with Accurate Armour Conversion, and some Eduard PE. The process of conversion is described in the blog. It is painted with Vallejo acrylic and then given a wash of artistic oil. Then chipping and weathering is done with Vallejo, and afterward a second mild wash. Then dry-brushed to add some highlight and dust. Concord books are of great help in making this model. At first I intended to add the big camo net, but later I decided not, because I don't want to hide those great details of the AA add-on armours.Markings are using some modified Eduard masks as well as some home-made ones, and spray with an air-brush, making it a tank of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guard. It is the first time I used the my wife's new Olympus C-5050 digital camera for model photography. This camera is really good for model photography. Very great optics, sharp and very detailed from corner to corner even at very close range! Very good control in exposure, focusing and lighting. I onle use a 30W reading lamp as my light source this time. Next time I will get a light-box and some white cards for fill-in reflection, and then I am sure I can make some real impressing photos with this camera.
