This is AFV-Club's new Ypr-765 kit, the Dutch variant of the AIFV infantry vehicle. Out of the box, you get the pre-1990's version of this vehicle, but I wanted to do an SFOR vehicle in 3-tone camouflage, so I updated it to today's standards. The most obvious modification is the two stowage baskets on either side of the rear hull. Everything is scratch-built. The only commercially available items are some Aber mesh, the towing cable and two lengths of Aber chain. The anti-skid surfaces were made using sandpaper, of which I sanded and cut away the backing sheet, until only the grain remained.
I added a considerable amount of detail to the rear of the vehicle. The 1990's update included 8 turret stowage racks for bedrolls, of which I made 6. They're only loosely attached so I can remove them before painting. The extra radio on the right side is used by SFOR troops for long range communication.
As I said, it's almost finished now :-)
Update 04-06-2004: I have sprayed the camo-colours with our new Evolution airbrush.
