This kit, which was built OOB, is the Italeri version of this SP howitzer; kit no.372. No modifications, a simple and pleasing project, if only disappointing in that I don't know if anyone does the ammunition tractors (Gamma Goats ??) that would look awesome coupled with this kit. I know they used tilly's but not quite the same as a single long vehicle for its impressive impact.

The vehicle is painted in a 50% mix of Humbrol no. 93 sand and flat white. no wash was applied, instead all shadowing was done with airbrush with a mix of German red brown and black. Dry brushing was also in enamel but with lots more white in the sand mix. Quite effective I think. The tracks were a bit of an experiment to achieve a deep rusty look. Although the shiny parts may of been more prominent, I am very satisfied with the result, especially compared to some earlier work.

Markings are airbrushed over some very rushed and impatiently cut stencils. The individual unit decals are not applied yet and won't be until I have a very decent reference photograph to work from.

Overall a good kit, and worth every cent.
