Churchill Mk. I

This is the Resicast kit with a lot of scratchbuilding and modification to correct the many faults. The model has Accurate Armour tracks and is finished with Modelmaster enamels and an oil wash further enhanced with pastels and a light overspray of 'dust'. All of the markings are hand made from rub down decals and Letraset.

The model is based on photographs in 'British Tank Markings & Names' and 'Mr Churchill's Tank' (which shows, quite clearly, that 'Shepherd' is a Mk I, even though BT White says it's a Mk II). It represents a tank if 'B' Sqn 43rd RTR. 33rd Tank Bde. 3rd (mixed) Div. UK. 1942. It took two and a half months to build and nearly ended up in the trash several times !!!!!
