I have had my 57mm ATG on the site for quite some time and just posted some new and hopefully better pics of the subject. Well the basis of the kit was Italeri's so called M1 US ATG but in reality it is a British 6 pounder. The actually originated from the old Peerless/MAX line of kits from the late 1970s. The 6 pounder was included with a Bedford Portee and as a towed gun behind a Canadian Chevy. My kit actually came from the Peerless/MAX with the Chevy. Conmsidering how old the kit is it actually is not that bad. A few items are hefty and I didn't change them thought they could be (clips on wheels, spades). I did however thin the gun shields. I vac-u-formed a new blister for the gun shield and the small breech shield on the gunner's side. Smaller diameter styrene rod was used to replace the cleaning rods. A few bolts here and there were also added. I did also add Aber hinges for the lower gun shield and replaced the shield hooks with brass rod, so the lower shield actually moves. Some photos show creating rust and scratches. The gun was painted with Tamiya paints, washes with Windsor/Newton oils and drybrushed with Vallejo acrylics. Rust was made with Bragdon rust and Windsor/Newton watercolors. Scratches were done with Vallejo paints. Dust was accomplished using Gamblin artist's pigments. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
