M47 Patton

This is a rather old kit by Italaerei. Not only is this a rather old kit, I finished the kit about 6 years ago. Hopefully my more recent efforts look better. Still, I feel that it didn't turn out too bad. At the time and matter of fact to this day there is little if anything for after-market materials for this kit. I feel that this is one of Italaerei's better efforts and stands up well with Tamiya's and DML's Pershing kits. There is now an individual link track set that could be used for this kit but that's about it.

I added casting numbers and textured the cast areas of the turret. The mantlet cover was sculpted using A+B epoxy putty. Many handles were replaced with brass rod. Ttie downs and other details were added from On-The-Mark's Late Sherman PE set. Some areas were thinned and holes in the sprokets added. Light guards were fashioned from brass rod and headlights added using MV lenses. Now that I see the kit in photos there probably are casting numbers on the lower nose that need to be added, much like the Pershing.

Tamiya OD was the basic color used. Winsor/Newton watercolors were used for a wash and various acrylics (Tamiya/PollyScale) were used for drybrushing. Kit decals were added to the model.
