T-55

Model by Michael Shackleton

This is my Tamiya T-55 which is an unashamedly based on one built by Marcus Nichols in Tamiya Model Magazine. After a break of several years from modelling, I needed inspiration and his article provided it. Thank you, Marcus.

The only extras are a few bits of Eduard brass for the usual radiator grilles and various mounting brackets, the usual fuel lines/light conduits from electrical cable, mudguard retainers from steel wire, and WWII Productions excellent resin tracks. This is my second attempt at weathering using pastels (all MIG). I only used a single wash and kept the dry brushing to a minimum. I also used real, as well as paintbrush, scratches!

It is meant to represent a generic tank from the Iran/Iraq conflict of the late eighties, and is not meant to be a particular vehicle. It was built as an experiment to see if I could still do it! I hope you like it.
