This is Dragon's BTR-70 built straight from the box. It was finished as an Ukrainian Army vehicle used by U.N. in Bosnia Herzegovina (UNPROFOR).
This base colour is Vallejo matte white acrylic. Soft filters of Humbrol earth colours followed by a selection of gouache white, black, ochre and rust to make the base paint appear worn. Chipped paint was made with gun metal paint followed by washes of rust paint and graphite powder applied with a brush. The rain marks were made with Tamiya Buff and Gray reduced in strength.
The mud texture was made with sawdust and white glue. It was painted a base colour of Tamiya Buff with soft tones of brown, dark gray and white to applied to simulate the several types of mud wetness. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
