This is a conversion of a Tamiya T-72M1 kit (kit No. 35160) to depict a Yugoslav M84 during the withdrawal from Kosovo.
Most of the conversion work went to the turret, where I shaved off the T72 Russian rangefinder and scratch-built the Swedish rangefinder and wind sensor installed on the M84. Additional detailing went to the smoke grenade launchers and the damaged mud guards. I sprayed the model with a basecoat of Tamiya XF-65 Field Grey, then topcoated with Tamiya XF-12 Japanese Navy Grey. Dry transfers were used to make the markings. I also weathered the model with pastels to simulate rust and a coat of soil around the undersides. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
