Armored Convoy Escort, Sopwith Camel

Model by Jim Lewis

"Sopwith Camel" was a Vietnam War US armored convoy escort vehicle. As built, the model represents 'Camel' circa 1968. At this time, the unit that used "Sopwith Camel" is not known, but the model is built from Veteran recollections and personal photographs. The base model is an assembly of AFV Club M35A2 parts backdated to M35A1 standard. The fighting compartment and fittings are scratchbuilt from sheet styrene with a lot of homecast resin details for equipment and weapons mounts.
