Don't ask me why I did it, it was on a whim. I actually believe that there are plenty of interesting subjects out there of vehicles that actually did see service, but this beast is impressive in it's own right. Dragons E-100 is an easy kit to build and I found none of the problems you occasionally hear about on the discussion groups. The fit was excellent and the detail good. Although you can't see them, as these are the only pictures I have left of this model having sold it ages ago, I replaced the kit exhausts with some Moskit Jagdtiger ones as well as a Jordi Rubio Barrel.
I have always been dubious about the usefulness of a co-axially mounted 75mm cannon with a 128mm gun, as it wouldn't be much use for ranging and the ammunition would take up space from the main gun's ammo.Besides if you look closely at the picture of the captured Maus factory in the Schiffer Maus book you will notice mantlets minus the co-axial gun. Therefore I decided to use the night fighting vision set from a Tamiya steel wheeled Panther.
Real mud was used for the weathering (mixed with white glue for adhesion) as well as pastel chalks.
This is a lot of writing for three measly pictures so I'll end now, I hope you enjoy seeing my flight of fancy.
Cheers,
