Having just returned to modelling after a 30 year gap this is my first completed effort. It's meant to represent a Jeep as driven by my late father-in-law, S for Sugar Co., PPA, N Africa, Italy & Yugoslavia (hence the Astrolabe at the front). This is it in it's N Africa phase. Tamiya's old kit with additions like tie downs on the bonnet, railings fitted in the rear compartment, Academy .50 cal on scratch pedestal mount (excellent detail set No.1384) bedrolls from AA (set No. A31, disappointing), CMK rucksacks & tents (set No.3034 excellent) and so on. Painted with Humbrol Sand and Stone & Tamiya Buff. My wash & weathering technique leaves alot to be desired and, looking at the photo's in the cold light of day their isn't enough shade variation between the vehicle and the baggage, but we live and learn.
