Buffalo Soldier, 1880s

This dude is a 120mm 1880’s Buffalo Soldier. Everything was entirely scratch-built as a master for The Lost Battalion line of figures. He was a bit difficult since I had no reference but TLB supplied a lot. He was sculpted using A + B epoxy putty. Weapons were made of brass and styrene. I sculpted his face using a fellow teacher as a model.

He was finished using Winsor/Newton oil paints with PollyScale, Tamiya and Vallejo acrylic paints. I thought the dark skin tone turned out alright.
