I know that this isn’t a military figure but it does show the typical pin-up girl of cherished by GIs during World War II. I came across this photograph in a local newspaper in 1996 honoring a fifty year achievement award for Lauren Bacall. I thought the pose, curve of her stance and the lines of her dress were classic ( that’s the art teacher coming out in me ).
This figure was sculpted using Super Sculpty and A + B epoxy putty. MV lenses were used for the jewel in her shoes. Scale of the figure is 170 mm. I first sculpted the figure nude ( sorry folks, not for this site ) to get the anatomy correct. The dress was then sculpted over the figure. She was painted using Winsor/Newton oil paints. The main picture was altered using Photoshop to capture the same lighting as the original picture. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
