Scorpion

This is the Scorpion kit from AFV Club that I converted into the Spanish version of this vehicle. Tercio de la Armada (TEAR) of Infanterķa de Marina (Spanish Marines).

The Spanish Scorpions have Perkins engines instead of the Jaguar of the original. The engine covers are totally diferent. They are in three modules and incorporate a new lateral air intake, near the the shovel. At the front, the turbo-compresor intake is also different, and the transmission grill is also reduced to give driver a better view. Other differences include an antenna container under the exhaust pipe, two boxes added to the turret sides, the absence of a night sight and the installation of the telephone box on the turret left. A fan was added to clear smoke from the turret when the main gun was fired. The Spanish Scorpions also takes the tracks system from the Scimitar.

I scratch-built all of these changes and for details I used a combination of photoheched Eduard parts, plasticard and wire.
