Centurion Mk. III, Korea

Model by Sean Lynch

This is the Tamiya Centurion MkIII, 1/35th. It is the motorized kit, which I bought in the '80s. My goal was to buy as little aftermarket as possible, and try new techniques, both painting and hand modifications. I worked from what images I could find on the net and info from this website. I added grab handles where needed, built axles from toothpicks(the original motor parts all gone), the canvas manlet cover from tissue and plastic strip, jerry can and rack from spare bits. The only direct after market item is the barrel from Barrel depot and the figure from Warriors.

Painting was done with Vallejo. Weathering from preshading, oil washes, drybrushing and pastels. Decals are box originals Ground work is celluclay, snow is Woodland Scenics.
