The vehicle represents a Marder III of the 19th Pz Div somewhere on the eastern front during the autumn of 1942. The crew are in a good hull down position but have been flanked by the enemy.
The model is Tamiya's Marder III with a CMK drivers compartment http://www.track-link.net/reviews/k1385 Jordio Rubio barrel and Fruil tracks, the tracks where treated with Tourmaline (a good product but a little hazardous to your health). The drivers hatch was scratch built as the etch was too thin and the kit part too thick. Dry transfers are from Archer and these were toned down with weathering powders. The crew is a mix of Dragon and Tamiya with Hornet heads, the 'blonde' crewman had his hair made with Vallejo putty and his hat from a Preiser set. The crew gear is from Dragon and Preiser and the food containers are from Plus Model.
Painting was via my trusty (very old) airbrush, after a Citadel undercoat, using Vallejo paints and a mix of Mig and MMP weathering powders. The figures uniforms have been painted using Vallejo paints (but mixed to get the colour that I was happy with) and flesh with oils.
The base is MDF with stained moulding and grass from Silfor and Seafoam bushes (a cautionary note, Seafoam dries out when in contact with plaster!).
