River Crossing

Diorama by Barkin Bayoglu

When I built this diorama I was quite bored with all level scenes. So I wanted to give the terrain different heights. This was my second attempt at replicating water too. I used clear polyester resin, do not use this stuff inside as it is toxic, and a very thin layer of Liquitex Acyrlic Gel. At the time, I was not thinking about cutting the model. So I had to build a "pool of polyester" to "drown" the vehicle. The diorama is tiny at 20cm ×20cm, but weights 2.3kg!. The vehicle and figures are painted with Tamiya acrylics and several washes of Winsor & Newton oils.

Models used: Tamiya M5A1 Light Tank OOTB, Tamiya Figures, Woodland Scenics Hedgerow Set.

Happy Modelling,
