LAV 25

Model by Michael Bedard

I finished this kit a long time ago, sometime in the early 90s. It is the ESCI kit of the LAV 25 Command. Right after I finished the model an article appeared stating how the engine slats are turned 90 degrees.

I didn’t do much to the kit. I added a weld bead around the superstructure using A + B putty which now looks heavy-handed. I shaved off the rear door handles and replaced them using Evergreen plastic shapes. The turn signals were fun. I used MV lenses, used a sharp knife to cut the bottom off and painted them using Tamiya clear paints.

Tamiya acrylic paints were used using the painting guide for colors from their MUTT with TOW instruction sheet. Decals are Verlinden and various kit decals. It represents a U.S. Marine vehicle in the early 90s.
