Panther Ausf. A

Model by Michael Bishop

This is Dragon's Ausf "A" version pretty much built straight from the box. Only a little bit of detailing was attempted. I added zimmerit with the idea of making it look like a field applied coating. The turret numbers and crosses were handpainted using a paper stencil. I added periscope glass in the commanders hatch and some screen over the air vents.

I painted it with ceramic paints, using a Paasche "H" airbrush. I gave the whole tank a wash with Polly Scale Roof Brown to age the colors and to make them blend.

The tank is not a specific vehicle but loosely based upon photos of Panzer Lehr Regiment 130 vehicles. It is set on a base depicting Paris when the resistance tore up street pavers and tree grates to form barricades. It may not be hsitorically accurate in that case.
