This is the DML Pz III M/N, backdated to an "N" based on an "L" chassis. Most of the parts for an "L" were in the box, and concerned the exhaust and the position on the lights on the glacis. The Achtung Panzer Pz III volume was used a reference for this.
The vehicle is based on a photo of "07", an Ausf N of S.Pz.Abt 501 in Tunisia, early 1943. It features a dunkelgrau painted turret [minus spaced armour], and a sand coloured chassis. The photo has been reproduced many times, and in poor quality pics the grey turret doesn't stand out, but in a good pic, it definately looks grey! The sandbags were sculpted from DAS, and the jerry can rack was scratch-built. The figure is from Alpine.
It was painted in a variety of acrylics (mainly Xtracrylics) and weathered in oils and pastels. I didn't drybrush at all, and relied on pre/post shading and the washes and pastels to highlight any detail. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
