PzKpfw III Ausf. N

This is Gunze Sangyo’s PzKpfw III Ausf. N ‘High Tech’ model that was finished in 1995. It is basically stock with the exception of On-The-Mark smoke canister turret bracket that was predominate on the Ausf. N that was missing from the ‘high tech’ kit.

It was finished and drybrushed using Tamiya acrylics with watercolor washes. Markings came from a Tamiya sheet to represent the support units attached with Tiger tanks in North Africa.

The kit is heavy with a vast amount of white metal pieces. There was a lot of photo-etch, Modelkasten tracks and a turned barrel. Considering all this was included in a kit that I bought in 1986 I guess for the time you really could say it was ‘high tech’ or at least 20 years ahead of their time.
